Free site survey

You can sign up for a free site survey from thewebtailor. We'll look through your site, and make some recommendations for improving and developing it. We'll tell you if any of it is broken, or if visitors using certain browsers might have problems accessing it. We'll suggest changes to make it easier to use, quicker to load, and smoother to navigate around. There's no obligation to have the work done, and you can even take our report to someone else and have them do the work - if you really want to.

We think of it as our contribution to making the world wide web an easier place for all of us to work in.

Once you've had a survey done, we can give you an estimate of the costs involved in carrying out the recommendations, and we'll work with you to agree a list of priorities. Only then, if you tell us to carry out the renovation, do you have to start paying for anything.

Charges

All our website work is charged at a flat rate of £35 per hour. The initial survey, and the prioritisation of work, is free, and we start every job with a detailed, costed, work programme. We will provide you with ongoing reports as the project progresses. And your bill will detail all the work we've done for you.

• Browns of Enderby Ltd
  These Health and Safety consultants came to thewebtailor after a previous designer let them down. The site's navigation links were inconsistent, the form enabling contact with Browns did not work, and the pages were overly complex. We fixed the form, redesigned the site navigation and cut out wasteful code.The result: a faster, easier to use, and more productive website.
• MotorMovers
  A meta-site for used car dealers and private car sales in the Leicestershire area. The owners of the MotorMovers site had built their own static site, but realised they had reached a limit - thewebtailor produced a dynamic, database-driven site with much higher capacity, more flexibility, and tailored searches. Individual dealers can now have accounts to add and remove their own vehicles.
• Contact Print Services
  Contact Print Services had been on the web for about eighteen months when they contacted thewebtailor. Their original site, built by a member of staff using Microsoft FrontPage, was provoking negative comments - it was slow to load, it wasn't showing up in search engines, and it wasn't compatible with all available browsers. We started from scratch, and built a site that dealt with all these problems, and added in a few new features, such as the databae of second-hand equipment, which the client maintains themselves, and a mailing list facility.
• Southwark Muslim Women's Association
  The SMWA website had been started in spare time by a member of staff. Realising they needed a more professional approach, they contacted thewebtailor to create a site which required minimal updating and maintenance, and which could be extended later as money became available. We simplified the site structure, cleaned up the pages using style sheets and server-side includes, and we are now working with SMWA towards developing new, interactive services for their site.
